At the direction of the City Council, the City Administrator serves as the City’s chief administrative and executive officer, ensuring that City Council directives, goals, and policies are implemented and executed. The City Council determines the duties and responsibilities of the City Administrator in compliance with all ordinances and state statutes. This position is responsible for planning, directing, managing, and reviewing all activities and operations of the City; coordinates programs, services, and activities among City departments and outside agencies; exercises direct supervision for exempt and non-exempt employees, including all Department Directors; ensures the financial integrity of the City; represents the City’s interests; provides highly responsible and complex policy advice and administrative support to the Mayor and City Council.
